There are many, many attractions that tourists in London visit annually but there are several that every London visitor has to see.

- Big Ben: is the nickname of the bell in the clock at the north end of Westminster Palace. It is the largest chiming four faced clock in the world. It’s the third largest free-standing clock tower in the world.

- The Tower of London: can be found on the north bank of the River Thames. It was built in 1966 during the Norman Conquest. William the Conqueror built the White Tower from which the Tower of London is named. Since 1100, the Tower of London has been used as a prison. It is a series of buildings set in two concentric circles that are surrounded by a wall and a moat.

- London Bridge: spans the River Thames. It connects London City and Southwark in central London. The present bridge opened in 1793, one of many bridges to have appeared at the same site. In fact, a bridge has existed at or near the present site since the time of the Roman occupation, which was nearly 2,000 years ago.

- The Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace: is possibly London’s number one tourist attraction. The palace itself was built in 1702 as the London home of the Duke of Buckingham. Buckingham Palace’s state rooms are open from late July to September. The Queen’s Guard and the Queen’s Life Guard are the two groups of infantry and cavalry that guard the royal residences in London.

- The London Eye, or the Millennium wheel: is an enormous Ferris wheel that stands 443 feet or 135 metres tall. It is the number one paid tourist attraction in the UK and the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe. It can be found at the western end of Jubilee Gardens, in the borough of Lambeth, on the South bank of the River Thames.

- Princess Diana’s Memorial: can be found in the southwest corner of Hyde Park. It was designed to express her love of children. Princess Diana’s Memorial was officially opened in July 2004 by Queen Elizabeth II.

Today’s visitors to London can pick and choose from a long list of things to do and see while visiting England’s capital city. The sites on the above list are just a prelude to days and nights of exciting sightseeing in the city of London.

Not being a fan of cold weather completely makes a person ineligible for any travel to the Antarctic but there is one woman who went against what she dislikes by not traveling to this place once but two times. This woman is interested for a third trip to the continent. This was the coldest continent on earth and the lady was aware of it. Part of what motivated her to do what she did was the fact that she would be one of the few who accomplished this. Read this site if you want exciting travel to antarctica information.

Finding herself working 825 miles from the South Pole, she was actually working as one of the support crew for scientists at McMurdo Station on the Ross Ice Shelf. Today, her job as a general field assistant is familiarly known as that of a go for. A source given to her was Survival in Antarctica by the National Science Foundation which she needed to read beforehand. She also had to undergo a series of inoculations and pass an extensive physical exam. This is due to the absence of medical facilities over there.

Getting medical treatment is a matter of being flown out of the area with a helicopter in which the government will be incurring a heft cost not to mention other people being put in harm’s way. Part of her trip to Antarctica involves an outdoor survival school she must attend after arriving. What she will be taught includes spotting a crevasse field and making a sleeping shelter for when she finds herself far from the base.

A covered walkway led from the tent to a bathroom where four lavatories and two showers were located. A sign was posted saying how personnel are only allowed a two minute shower a week. Only when needed should toilets be flushed. Implemented until further notice is this ruling. The reason behind this is to have water if a fire happens on the station. In spite of the sub zero temperatures, equipment ran continuously so there were many mechanical breakdowns, especially at the water plant. When you would like to get more information on antarctica trip check out this site.

More water cutbacks are required when this occurs. But they made sure that water was available for cooking food and to use for drinking. Water allotments though were limited when it comes to flushing, showering, or doing the laundry.

Another thing they needed to do was plan every phone call they make. It is necessary for calls to be made after you put yourself on a waiting list because air waves can easily be affected by the weather. When it comes to communication, ham radio operators are part of it.

She says of all the inconveniences and difficulties of life on the station, dealing with the cold was the hardest and cold it did get. A recorded temperature of 32 degrees happened during the summer running from October through December. Happening in January are temperature changes. She used her diaries to record changes in the temperature.

With the weather, it can easily dictate pair work. Weather can easily affect outdoor travel. Strictly forbidding travel happens when harsh weather conditions are present. Being isolated gave her time to get to know herself. Simply put, changes happened. Such a swaggering person was this woman before the Antarctica trip. She is more aware that she cannot control everything that happens. With this she is more at peace with things.

Weird describes that continent. Being able to walk on a continent where only a few if not zero people have been to before is rather remarkable. Still, man has been to almost every area possible. Man can go to the mountains, the rivers, and in the timber if desired.

You Won’t Be Content Until You See The White Continent

Years of working in the Trans Alaska Pipeline, the Atigun Pass to be specific, has made this gentleman like the snow and cold very much. Upon hearing about the alumni association of his local university’s plans to venture into an Antarctic expedition just last summer, this gentleman, a retired civil engineer, shivered with so much excitement. For me, it was a truly amazing plan. Antarctica has been mesmerizing real explorers even armchair ones in spite of its reputation of being the coldest and least hospitable place on Earth. Read this site if you want russia cruise information.

However, there has been a decline on the number of travelers each year for Antarctica is not very easy to get to and neither is it a cheap area for travel. Before a traveler can get to the Antarctic Peninsula, he has to come from the southernmost part of Argentina, Ushuaia, then traverse a thousand kilometers through the Drake Passage, grim with the world’s roughest sea weather which takes two days.

Your life can be changed by profound experiences like this one. First sighted in 1820, Antarctica has lured adventurers since the late 1800s. But before the signing of the Antarctic Treaty in 1959, there were not any commercial voyages to the region, it was only after this land was established as a realm of peace and science, as well as a natural reserve.

But it is only after the collapse of the Iron Curtain in the 1990s that the travel industry soared despite the welcome evolutions. But many tour operators seized ice rated expedition vessels from Russia and turned these into vessels for commercial travel, sensing the opportunity as there came no money to fund any scientific developments. Most visitors are seasoned voyagers so they need to see something extraordinary. Others are adventure seekers looking to follow in the footsteps of Sir Ernest Shackleton, whose legendary endurance expedition in 1914 remains one of the greatest tales of survival in expedition history. When you would like to get more information on bering sea check out this site.

This spectacular land will enable you to cruise among gigantic glaciers and icebergs and fill the landscape, promising enjoyment especially among artists, photographers and nature lovers. A menagerie of animals like whale species, humpback, killer and minke exist here, along with penguins and seals. The circumpolar north is where the polar bears are so you will not be able to see them here.

With no developed ports and harbors, however, visitors must scuttle to the coast aboard rubberized inflatable boats known as zodiacs. You may now go hiking, take photos, go kayaking in the icebergs of just stand with the penguins. Your naturalist experts should be able to confidently answers queries about the frozen continent’s wildlife, marine biology, glaciology and history all the time.

His travel was spent aboard a 5 star cruise liner for eight days while he was in Buenos Aires for three whole days and both featured lectures about landscapes and local fauna. Going to rookeries of penguins with conservationists as guides was, for him, a mesmerizing and unforgettable experience. These amazing short legged birds put on a show after walking to him curiously but unfazed.

But Antarctic travel does not appeal to everyone. Many of today’s environmental experts state that the growing number of tourists will inevitably harm the continent’s fragile, disrupting the procreation of wildlife thus lessening populations. The international association of Antarctic tour operators has adopted voluntary standards to minimize the environmental impacts of tourism. With strict adherence of excellent environmental and operational laws by tourists, companies and natural programs, the White Continent will be kept pristine.

Isn’t it just sad, he continues, that many of the shows we see today on TV compound the problem as they condition us to think that animals, even the many penguins in Antarctica are only there for purposes of entertainment? The presence of humans around these animals will make them less wary. And this lengthy disassociation from the natural world poses many troubles. But this not something readily embraced by the other conservationists. But as people come into Antarctica, he argues, the more tourists will feel for this continent.

For quite a few years, River Nile cruises have been taking travellers on a magical journey back in time along this outstanding river. A combination of exploring the wonders of historic Egypt combined with a gentle journey south from Luxor to Aswan is ever desirable with visitors.

A standard River Nile cruise lasts seven nights and run Monday to Monday. Direct flights from Britain bring visitors to Luxor where they are moved to their cruise vessel to check in. The following morning, the journey into age-old Egypt commences with a visit to the East Bank of the Nile at Luxor including the Temples of Karnak and Luxor.

The next morning, the sightseeing moves on to the West Bank of the Nile which includes the Valley of the Kings prior to coming back to the cruise boat for lunch. Immediately following lunch, the cruise ship departs Luxor proceeding south for Edfu. Following an overnight mooring at Edfu, there are further outings to temples at both Edfu and Kom Ombo before continuing to Aswan.

The next morning, its time to take a look at Aswan and a more modern construction; the Aswan High Dam. Built in the 1950s, the Aswan High Dam formed Lake Nasser, itself a cruise choice. In the afternoon, there is time to sail on a classic Egyptian Felucca along this very attractive section of the Nile. The Cataract Hotel in Aswan looks out onto the River Nile and it is here that Agatha Christie published part of her popular book, “Death on the Nile”.

Soon after an overnight stop in Aswan, there is some time available to explore the town or alternatively, there is an optional excursion to the outstanding Temple of Abu Simbel at the other end of Lake Nasser. It is a long way to Abu Simbel, either nearly an hour by air or 3 hours but it is worth the hassle.

Aswan is the turn-around point for Nile cruises and now the cruise boat heads back north the 80 miles to Luxor. The journey takes two days with an overnight stay at Edfu before going back to Luxor. The week cruising the River Nile is over and visitors return to the airport and home.

Much value can only be given to what is inside the plastic vials and bags by someone who has been intensively trained. With such specimens originating from the Larsen Ice Shelf in Antarctica the scientists will truly be kept busy for long. One mud sample, according to a college senior, can lead to a multitude of information. Antarctica was visited by people belonging to one college and a university that received funding from the National Science Foundation and this college senior was part of it. For these schools, traveling for research is something ordinarily done. Go to this site for further information on travel to antarctica.

It was in early February when the group left on a research vessel from Punta Arenas Chile. It was on the east of the Antarctic Peninsula, the Larsen Ice Shelf, where they first stopped and it was an unfamiliar place. No one had ever been in those waters said another senior student. Using sonar to measure the depth of the ocean, the boat moved slowly. Water and sediment samples not to mention video footage were all gathered by the students and researchers from the deck. Decades may pass before the samples are analyzed completely.

Considering modern global warming, they will be evaluating mud from its water content to the overall composition to make a possible correlation. Students said the trip was the opportunity of a lifetime. Such a trip offers a face to face encounter with life, according to a student. This student, who is a native of Scotland, plans to study global warming in graduate school. There is no problem with her having to spend the rest of her life on a ship says one student who will be at one university’s school of Oceanography next year.

The group did well even when they experienced harsh weather conditions in the Southern Hemisphere. It’s like Upstate New York really. Never mind the cold days if the sun rose and set at 430 am and 930 pm respectively. When you look out the window, the brightness can make it rather painful. No day passed without science even with the lacking civilization. For the students, shifts ran from midnight to noon or the other way around. When they are on off days, students could either watch movies in the group lounge or sleep on the bunk beds. You will find that further information on antarctica trip is on that site.

This does not mean that there were no rules. If something big happens, wake the rest of the seniors. Not only did one senior student need to go to an emperor penguin but she also needed to check out a surface volcano. Instead of sleeping you want to be on your toes, said the Dryden native. You’d want to encounter everything. One of her best experiences here involved a trip to Vega Island. What she said was that being able to go to where only 10 people have been to is unbelievable.

Resulting in five weeks of missed classes for the students was the trip. The hectic schedules they were given plus the environmental safety conditions in their vessel prevented them from getting all of their schoolwork done. There is a bigger challenge when the ship is constantly moving. There was not much communication allowed for the people back home. Still a closeness was established with the students and faculty due to the absence of distractions and close quarters. A student saw it as the lack of an escape. Not only the desolate area but also the extreme environment will really make you close.

When they returned to the United States, they carried the samples in coolers with each of the mud and rock specimens having documents for the customs officials. Carried by a student were 323 digital pictures plus five rolls of film. Experiencing the surroundings was what another student who participated in last year’s exploration chose to do. You have to live the experience. Awareness is best when it comes to your environment.

And Its Extreme Weather Conditions

The Internet, in the hands of a sensible and responsible person is a powerful technological tool that provides many benefits. Some of these benefits include the managing of your personal finances, the conducting of research, attending school, learning new hobbies, meeting others, etc. However, the Internet in the hands of a base individual can produce devastating and adverse consequences on others as well as themselves. This can be especially true when these unseemly individuals depict themselves as something that they are not. Therefore, when communicating with others, through the internet, it is very important that the internet user keep in mind certain safety measures.

Abiding by these safety measures is especially important when it comes to using the Internet as a tool when developing a personal relationship with others. Therefore, it is important to summarize online dating safety measures.

Understanding Online Dating or 网上交友
When discussing online dating safety measures it is important to understand the basic concepts of using the Internet to build relationships. Unlike traditional dating, when individuals are able to meet each other face-to-face, online dating is dependent upon words that are being shared through e-mails or via chat rooms.Online dating can also be facilitated by utilizing an online dating service.

Misrepresentation
The basic rule of maintaining an online dating safety perspective is that things aren’t always what they seem. The individual you are conversing with may be a minor or may be a 55 year old individual who claims to be a 25 year old.

Therefore, because there is no visual component to the communication, the words that are being expressed can be either true, half-truths or complete lies. Obviously if an individual is not being truthful then they are misrepresenting themselves. Even if a photograph is provided, there are no guarantees that this is an up-to-date photo.

Contact Information
Another online dating safety tip that should be followed is that you should never share any contact information. This contact information can be defined as your full name, place of employment, personal address and telephone numbers.

Slow And Steady
Another online dating safety tip is to proceed with the online relationship in an unhurried fashion. As with all relationships, it is important to proceed slowly. Therefore, allow the online relationship to unfold.

More and more people are finding it harder to find that special someone, especially in a world where working hours are increased and people are more cynical of the intentions of others. The lack of regular social activity could be a factor in the rising popularity of online dating sites. The available online dating statistics appear to be promising with 40 million Americans alone said to use online dating services. This doesn’t even include the number of people worldwide who are seeking love and relationships online. With such a high number of people participating in online dating, how accurate are online dating statistics? Do the numbers only reflect users that have accessed an online dating service one time? What about the married people who use these sites dishonestly, or the person with a number of online relationships. How do these people affect the statistics of online dating? Online dating statistics provide interesting general conceptions of online dating and single people are continuing to use these sites, even the ones that charge large amounts of money for their services. There are many lonely people out there, and in areas where one gender greatly outnumbers the other, a lot of people feel that online dating is their last and only hope.

Online dating statistics claim that nearly half of single people have used or currently use online dating services. This is a huge pool of single people looking for love, so what exactly are they seeking? Online dating statistics usually show that the most popular lies told by singles looking for love are about age, weight and income. Singles with pictures in their profiles usually receive a lot more responses than those with no pictures, especially females. This can probably be explained by the online dating statistics that show physical appearance is more important to males while women claim to be attracted to a good personality over appearance. Although there are usually more single women than men, online dating statistics tend to show that women are approached more often by men online rather than vice versa.

A sense of humor is usually on top of a woman’s wish list, while most men are looking for younger women. This is probably one of the only online dating statistics that coincides with the wants of the opposite sex, as many men claim to have a good sense of humor on their profiles while the majority of women are looking for older men. The wish list changes according to age, however. For example, middle-aged women usually claim to be interested in younger men according to a lot of online dating statistics.Although a lot of people are looking for no-strings fun, there are many who are seeking serious relationships. The majority of the online dating crowd has high standards for prospective mates. Online dating or 网上交友 statistics show that most people keep their options open until they are sure that they have found the perfect partner.

How To Become A Success Statistic

If trying to find Mr. or Mrs. Right in today’s world wasn’t hard enough, then online dating certainly made it nearly impossible! Although technology may have brought the human race farther than it has ever been before, it seems as though online dating has sent the likelihood of finding “the one” spiraling backwards. If you browse the internet, it’s easy to find a copious number of online dating stories to make one laugh, cry, or even shudder. Which makes us wonder: is there a knack to becoming part of the successful statistics of online daters? Online dating, on the positive side, opened up the possibility of searching the world for your soul mate without having to leave your home. On the negative side, it gave us an endless array of possibilities for ending up with a freak, fraud or weirdo. For instance, take some of the online dating stories that ended in tragedy because people thought they were meeting Mr. or Mrs. Right, only to find their match was a criminal, married, or not even of the nominated gender! To help prevent this from happening, there are a few simple hints to keep in mind when searching the net.

Basic Do’s and Don’ts

The first rule of thumb with online dating is to be cautious, and use your gut instinct as often as you can. Many victims who live to tell the tale of a horrific online dating story always mention that somewhere along the line, something just didn’t feel right. Many couldn’t say exactly why – it just “felt” wrong.

Another point to keep in mind is to maintain a suspicious attitude of people that you meet. Many online dating stories seem obvious that the man or woman that the dater was emailing seemed too good to be true. If this is the case for you, then it probably is! Like the rest of the world, there are a number of fun and wonderful people out there to meet, but there are also a lot of strange and dangerous ones as well. The scariest part is that they can make you think that they are anyone they want – especially through the internet. The most basic rule to online dating is to use common sense. Don’t give out personal details such as phone numbers and addresses until you know the person well, and when meeting for the first time, always meet in a public place. That way, if you feel that your online dating story is falling into the “horror” file, you can make a hasty, anonymous escape.

Look On the Bright Side

The most important thing to keep in mind with online dating or 网上交友 is to not take it too seriously. Some people believe that if you are meant to meet someone, then you will – one way or another. Try to think of online dating as a bit of fun and a way to meet some new and interesting people, rather than the be all and end all of your quest for “the one”. And when you’re done, why not write about your own online dating story on the internet so that you can share the joy, laughs or at worst, warning to others of your experience!
